Catholic Charities Senior & Caregiver Support Services operates four (4) congregate dining sites throughout Schenectady County.  These sites, also known as Friendship Cafe's, provide individuals over the age of 60 with a place to go for a nutritious lunch and the opportunity to socialize.  Volunteers are needed at each site to assist with kitchen tasks, serving meals, leading activities, and engaging participants.

MEALS ON WHEELS

Catholic Charities Senior & Caregiver Support Services is in need of volunteers to help deliver noon meals to homebound seniors in Schenectady County.  The Meals on Wheels Program ensures that these seniors are provided with a nutritious meal and have someone to check in with them daily.  Without this daily contact, many of the seniors would have no other contact for days on end.  A volunteer driver for the program would deliver meals on a set route at a set time.  Drivers pick up their daily meals in ovens and coolers to ensure that proper and safe temperatures are maintained. Volunteers can choose to work as many or as few days a week as they desire, however consistency is vital.
